Angelika Kollin (b. 1976) is an Estonian Fine Art/Documentary photographer currently residing in Tampa, Florida. A self-taught artist, she completed the Academy Fotografika’s 1.5-year online documentary photography course in 2023. Angelika’s passion for photography and art is profoundly rooted in her desire to explore the complexities of interhuman connections and the deeper meaning behind human existence. Her work is driven by a lifelong quest to understand and gain insight into human loneliness and suffering, and to explore the role that faith plays in overcoming these challenges. In her photography, she seeks to capture an honesty and unapologetic directness, all while imbuing her images with intimate emotions and a gracious dignity.

Angelika’s interests lie particularly in portraits and documentary-style work, and she finds great fulfillment in working on personal, long-term photographic projects that allow for deep exploration of her subjects. Over eight years, she had the privilege of living in African countries like Ghana, Namibia, and South Africa. This experience allowed her to explore these themes within diverse cultures and economic conditions, significantly enriching her body of work. Currently, she is working on two ongoing projects titled “Parenthood” and “Mary's Children”, while also delving into the fascinating intersection of art and web3. While in Tampa, she is also taking part-time classes towards a BFA to further develop her artistic skills and knowledge.

Angelika’s work has been recognized by prestigious organizations and competitions, including being a finalist in the Sony Photography Award 2024, a winner in the Portrait category of CPOY 78, the Professional Series category of the 22nd Julia Margaret Cameron Award (2024), Bartur Photo Award Founders Choice (2023), Best in Competition from FMoPA (2023), and 1st Prize Winner (2020) and Finalist (2022) from Lensculture, among others. Her photography has been published in renowned outlets such as CNN, The Guardian, The Washington Post, Scientific American, Musée Magazine, PhotoVogue, and F-Stop Magazine.

Additionally, her work has been exhibited at esteemed venues and festivals worldwide, including the Helsinki Foto Festival, a group exhibition organized by Lensculture in New York, a solo show in Cape Town, the OFF Foto Festival in Bratislava, the FotoNostrum gallery in Barcelona, and The International Photographer group exhibition in Berlin, among others.
